Three enterprises belonging to the of sphere of management of UPEC have been involved to designing new state-of-the-art carriages built on order of the Ukrainian railways.

The rolling stock of the new generation is produced for the Ukrainian railroad operator at Kryukovo Carriage Works, which got an order for 1000 such carriages.

One of the main components determining the quality characteristics of a carriage is a new box unit with the so called cassette bearing (TBU), which allows to increase the axle load up to 25 T, provides increase of the warranty overhaul life and operation life of the new rolling stock.

This unit for the carriages of the new generation is designed at the UPEC enterprises. The participants of the manufacturing cooperation are the Ukrainian Foundry Company and the biggest Ukrainian forging and molding enterprise – Lozova Forging Mechanical Plant, which produce jointly carriage semi-boxes. Cassettes for the unit are delivered by "HARP-Trading" company from the world leader in bearing manufacturing - SKF company, which is UPEC’s the strategic partner.

"HARP-Trading", authorized by UPEC for performing all kinds of work related to the railroad orders, supplies the unit to Kryukovo Carriage Works.

By now "HARP-Trading" has supplied 2000 units for about UAH 6 million. Next year the estimated cost of the orders for manufacture and supply of this product is about UAH 20 million.

I am sure that the Bearing Plant will also start manufacturing products for the Ukrainian railroads soon.
